Okaloosa Island is a narrow three-mile island between the cities of Fort Walton Beach and Destin, Florida. Okaloosa Island is also recognized as Santa Rosa Island and a portion is a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. As the barrieri island between the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay, Okaloosa Island is a popular location for watersports, including jet skiis, kiteboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding. it is home to the Island Hotel and the Boardwalk featuring restaurants, a fishing pier, and the Gulfarium Marine Park. The Emerald Coast Convention Center is located on the north side of Okaloosa Island and is a popular location for meetings, concerts, and events. In addition to being home to many species of wildlife, Okaloosa Island offers several public beach access points and parks. 

Cities located in Okaloosa County include Baker, Cinco Bayou, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Lake Lorraine, Mary Esther, Shalimar, Valparaiso & Ocean City
