Destin Lifeguards Win 2015 National Championship

lifeguard

The community along the Emerald Coast has one more thing to be proud of this month. The Destin Beach Safety Lifeguards were named National Champions in Division B (100 employees or less) at the 2015 Nautica United States Lifesaving Association National Lifeguard Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Destin team is made up of 25 team members (15 men & 10 women). In addition to the team win, several lifeguards took home individual awards.

Since 2004, the Destin Beach Safety team has been patrolling the beaches in an effort to keep beachgoers safe. We should all be very proud of these athletes, and we are comforted to know they are helping to keep vistors and residents safe on our beaches during the spring and summer seasons. Click here for a list of public beach accesses in Destin.

See you @ the beach!
