Colin Kirkwood
Colin Kirkwood has been a hard worker and motivated since a very young age. Growing up in the Orlando area, he worked at his parent’s catering and restaurant business, learning the importance of customer service and delivering what is promised. While in high school, he began taking care of lawns and gardens in his parent’s neighborhood, and after a few short years he started his first company, Better Lawns & Garden, Inc. Over the next 12 years it grew into one of Central Florida’s most respected and well known landscape contracting firm. During that time at the age of 18 he bought his first home and over the next several years continued to buy homes for investment. In the summer of 2004, when the landscape contracting firm was established and running strong he started a new business, BLG Environmental Services Inc., a disaster recovery company working to help rebuild communities that had been damaged or destroyed by the unprecedented hurricanes season. The disaster recovery work required a lot of traveling to different states such as Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi along with the new responsibilities many new skills were obtained one of the most important is working under adverse conditions and under pressure. Knowing I was going to be starting a family I wanted to settle down and pursue two of my passions, real estate and fishing, so when the opportunity came for me and my soon to be wife to move to Destin we took it.
Colin has always had an interest in Real Estate and bought his first investment property when he was 18 years old, adding to his investment portfolio he continued to buy in both an up and down markets of real estate. With this knowledge he has a good understanding of property value and how to negotiate a great deal for his clients. Colin grew up fishing and spending his summers at the beach so when an opportunity came up for him to move to Destin, he didn’t hesitate for a moment and hasn’t looked back since. Colin was awarded the Top Sales Agent for the month of December 2009!
